Run blood test first

I was told by my husband's Integrative Doctor that Methylene Blue was great for cleaning out cells and helping to increase ATP with no side effects. I also read a book about it. A short while after my husband started taking it, he became weak, short of breath, and very fatigued. Just by chance I found out that there are possible side effects from Methylene Blue. It is a called acute hemolytic anemia. It is a genetic disorder found more often in males but can be in either males or females. We went to a Family Practice Doctor, who ran a CBC test, and we found out my husband's iron level was at a 7. This is extremely low. We immediately got off of the Methylene Blue and started on iron supplements along with Vitamin C for better absorption and within a week my husband was noticeably better but not up to normal yet. The Integrative Doctor should have run a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme test first before starting my husband on Methylene Blue. This could have been a very serious mistake.

Waiting for a change

Not sure what to expect for drinking this dye twice day for several weeks except for the blue green urine. Seems like I am gaining weight and wake up at night and have difficulty going back to sleep. Maybe coincidental? Nothing dramatic about increased strength or quick recovery from minor injuries. I am 86 years old!
